Cincinnati has a lot of cool churches, and St. John’s Unitarian Universalist certainly tops that list. Completed in 1960, it’s truly a distinctive modernist landmark in Clifton. As part of its mid-century modernization, architect John Garber (no relation to Woodie) hired none other than Harry Bertoia to create a beautiful Tree of Life sculpture for the sanctuary. Luckily for us it is still hangs there today.
Join us Saturday, September 16 to tour St. John’s with Bo Wachendorf. Hear the history of the church, its design, view the sculpture and modern sanctuary. Please note: This is a one hour event, please be sure to arrive at 10:00. Space is limited.
