This MCM ranch by renowned architect Hans Nuetzel is the near perfect combination of modern design + vintage details including the original St. Charles Kitchen, 2 sided fireplace, clerestory windows, vaulted wood ceilings, hardwood floors, skylights, and multiple walkouts to huge deck. Come see the Rampa’s vintage inspired holiday decor in the perfect midcentury setting.

Nuetzel (1921-2013), a native of Germany, earned his architecture degree from the University of Munich. Of Jewish decent, he survived concentration camps during WWII and emigrated to the U.S. with his wife and father in 1949. When he arrived in Cincinnati, he spoke 5 languages, but not English. After teaching himself the language he worked first for Carl Strauss & Ray Roush and later for GBBN Architects. He designed several buildings on the Miami University campus as well as the physics building at Xavier University. On the side, he designed homes largely on rolling, wooded lots, more than 30 of which are in Indian Hill. His true love was always residential architecture, and his last known design is a home in Indian Hill built in 2012.

The Rampa’s home, originally designed and built for the Obermeyer family, is one of the earliest known examples of his residential architecture. The home he designed for his own family is tucked on the hillside in Anderson Township right next to Ray Roush’s own home.
