cf3 member and gallery owner, Mary Ran has graciously invited cf3 to attend her talk on collecting mid-century art, set against the backdrop of her upcoming show featuring art by Joan Miró, Marc Chagall, Henry Sharp, Charley Harper, Herbert Barnett, Jack Meanwell, Paul Chidlaw, Leo Murphy, Robert Fabe, and more.
This members only event will be held on June 2nd from 1-3PM, and light refreshments will be served.

05/09/18, Cincinnati, OH – Mary Ran Gallery will present an exhibition of artwork by Midcentury modern artists including Joan Miró, Marc Chagall, Henry Sharp, Charley Harper, Herbert Barnett, Jack Meanwell, Paul Chidlaw, Leo Murphy, Robert Fabe, and more. The exhibit will be comprised of paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, and enamel. Ten percent of sales will benefit the Hyde Park Center for Older Adults (HPC), which offers meals, transportation, social services, and programming to help seniors stay in their homes. Open to all adults over age 60 for lunch, activities, and case manager meetings, HPC provides home visits and transportation services to seven local neighborhoods, including: East End, Hyde Park, Madisonville, Mount Lookout, Oakley, O’Bryonville, and South Norwood.
The exhibition runs June 1 – July 28, 2018. An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 1 from 5 – 8 pm. Light refreshments will be served. About Hyde Park Center for Older Adults
Hyde Park Center for Older Adults (HPC) provides services for seniors to help them stay safe and independent in their homes as long as possible. Since 1974, HPC has strived towards its mission of enhancing the intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual wellbeing of older adults through supportive services and engaging activities. Anyone aged 60 and older can come to the Center for lunch, activities, and to meet with the case manager. HPC’s transportation and case management home visits are available to seniors living in East End, Hyde Park, Madisonville, Mount Lookout, Oakley, O’Bryonville, and South Norwood.
HPC’s programs include:
Social Work: helps seniors stay independent in their own homes. HPC’s licensed counselor assist older adults through issues with isolation, physical and cognitive problems, lack of support system, inadequate income, and unsafe living conditions. HPC's counselor provides one-on-one assistance in the seniors’ homes to help them find the services they need.
Lunch: provides older adults with a balanced meal in a clean environment. The organization’s program offers lunches every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Transportation: provides transportation services to older adults. Services include rides to their dentist and/or doctors, to business appointments, as well as to meals provided at HPC. According to the organization, in 2016, HPC transported 5,617 people to Center lunch/programs, medical appointments, and to the grocery.
Wellness and Learning: provides forums for socialization. The program establishes healthy habits to keep seniors alert, focused, and free from loneliness in groups. According to the organization, in 2016, HPC held 1,543 Wellness activities and 9,231 attended those activities.
Mary Ran is on the board at HPC and has been a volunteer for several years.
