It’s time to kick off 2016 with the annual cf3 Potluck event! As previously mentioned, 2016’s tour series will focus on Mid Century Modernism in the Community. This year’s potluck will be hosted at the Wyoming Civic Center on January 30th from 5-7pm, located in the heart of the Wyoming historic district. The Civic Center represents an archetypal example of post WWII MCM architecture and is one of only a handful of Community Civic Center’s in the Cincinnati regional. The potluck will be held in the lower level Corral Room and also will feature a rare treat, Candlepin bowling. The Candlepin Bowling alley is a MCM jewel featuring vintage Brunswick ball return machines and is currently one of the most popular amenities of the Civic Center, it should provide a good deal of fun for all. The Wyoming Civic Center’s recent history has been controversial, recently there was an interest from the city to demolish the building and sell the land for private development. Thankfully through efforts of Wyoming community members, Cincinnati Preservation Association, and cf3, the city if now going to retain and renovate the building. Although the next steps for its renovation and future is unclear, the current building is a great example of a MCM building in desperate need of renovation. The building’s current conditions exemplifies many issues that plague mid-century buildings in today’s age of sustainability & deferred maintenance and should provide for some lively conversation on the appropriate next steps.
As part of our yearly annual meeting / potluck we will adopt the Slate for the Board of Directors for 2016. This year’s board includes:

Please plan to bring your favorite hors d’oeuvre or dessert on your favorite MCM wares. Beverages will be provided by cf3. Due to space limitations of the bowling alley and lower level, the event will be limited to 55 RSVP'd attendees, including guests. Address and directions will be provided in RSVP confirmation email.
