Coffee Chat: Rader House

  • 6 Sep 2014
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Clifton, address provided to registered guests 1-2 days in advance

Please join us for a coffee chat featuring an international style mid-century modern house designed by Richard Peacock in 1970 located in Clifton. The house is reflective of the design trend started by the New York Five, a group of architect including Peter Eisenman, Michael Graves, Charles Gwathmey, John Hedjuk, and Richard Meijer. Their work often reflects a distorted purity of form and in the late 1960s and early 1970s represented a new movement of modern style. The home features (3) levels and a unique front patio that contains a water feature and angles out to the street.

The house was purchased by Mike and Nikki Rader in June 2012, previous owners of a Dombar nearby. Since then, significant improvements have been made with the assistance of local architect Tilsley & Associatess Architects. Greg Tilsley will join us to discuss the efforts to increase natural lighting, improve home functionality, update living spaces, and increase outdoor living space, while keeping within a modern design language.

Street parking only is available, please plan to park on the adjacent streets and walk up the driveway to the house. Your event captain for the event is Chris Magee, if you have any questions, please email mageecm77@gmail.com or call 513-550-2339.
