Join us on Saturday, September 23, for a coffee chat at the Harris & Alice Weston House in East Walnut Hills. Current owners, Ronnie Sassoon and James Crump, have done a highly sensitive restoration of the house with minor changes that bring the house into the 21st-century. Ronnie’s masterful design sense combined with being a knowledgeable, world-class collector creates a magazine worthy, minimalist interior. Prepare to be amazed!

Harris and Alice Weston House Carl Strauss/Ray Roush, 1986Designed for two art collectors and philanthropists in 1984 and completed in 1986, the Weston House is a two-level International Style Modern home with over 5400 sq. ft. of total living area that sits atop a river view site in the Cincinnati neighborhood of East Walnut Hills. Its architectural design with strict geometries and design details that delineate its structure and form provides a crisp white background which beautifully highlights furnishings and art of any style.
Empty-nesters at the time, Harris K. Weston, an estate attorney, and Alice F. Weston, an environmental artist and photography sought to commission a contemporary river view home and waited nearly 10 years to find a suitable lot. Mrs. Weston said that they chose to have a house designed that took full advantage of its river view site over consideration of displaying their collections. Visiting the home one could say they achieved both! The steel-framed stucco, glass and wood home is burrowed into the hillside on its public facing and sparsely fenestrated north and east facades whereas its private west and south facades (which in part sit atop tall piers) are open with large expanses of glass to take advantage of its enviable views.
